Took a quick skim - and the abstract seems a bit misleading. Most of the journal articles in the db were not published by the major houses; but the conference papers were. My guess is that publishers don't subject conference papers to the same level of scrutiny.

What better way to improve my 9 year old’s probability intuitions.
