My daughter rolled her ankle on Thursday, running after an orange, because, of course, she did. She went to turn, it rolled and went crunch, immediately swelling. My partner picked me up from work early and we all went to the ER.
It's splinted and she's on crutches.

Salem The Doom Peanut was most put out with me because I dared to *dramatic gasp*put flea drops on her! She climbed onto the rice container, which is on top of the fridge, in protest.

My sweet girl made me what was supposed to be a Devil Dog cake, but it turned out to be Devil Dog cookies. I told her to bake it like a cake anyway. Then I cut it into pieces, put whipped cream between the layers, and made vanilla buttercream frosting to go on top. It's delicious.

These were supposed to be dinner rolls, but they rose for too long. Still tasty though.

Mini oreo cheesecakes with whipped cream. These were more difficult to make than the cheesecakes with Graham cracker crusts because the cream filling held them together. I'll try the blender next time.

Watching Rogue One and as the bad guy strides dramatically, I think "dramatic swishy cape. Much flap." I mention this to my partner, and he says seriously "swishy, dramatic, flapping cape." He gets me.

The customer that I made the cake for loved it so much that he came by to thank me today. He said it was the best pineapple upside-down cake that he'd had since the last time his mother made one. He also brought back the plate it was on.

I have an order for a pineapple upside-down cake to be delivered tomorrow. Because I haven't made one in...*attempts to count, goes cross eyed* a very long time, I did a test cake first. The customer is in his 70s, so I looked up a vintage recipe from the 1960s.

I remember seeing this in the movie theater when I was ten. My best friend's grandma, who was also my mother's roommate, worked at the theater, and we were allowed in for free. I think we watched it three, maybe four times that week.
