In the last couple of days, seven blurb quotes/endorsements for my disabled horror anthology have landed in my inbox, and I couldn’t be prouder of this book! My publisher will be making cute little graphics for the quotes and I will share here when allowed!

Well this is a first! I’m in an online lecture and in the housekeeping section, the lecturer said “if there’s a fire in your location, you should know where the emergency exits are, so get out.”

Last week, I was hospitalised due to influenza. It was so scary as I couldn’t even keep water down and after 30 hours of that I was so dehydrated. My husband took me to the local hospital and we were sent to another one straight away, where I was treated promptly due to sepsis risk.

I had pneumonia at the beginning of the year, a bad cold last week, and for the last two days I’ve been sick with fever, chills, aches, and a wicked sore throat. All this on top of my chronic illnesses and disability. Why I can’t I catch a break?! I just want to write and promote my books & I can’t

Why is the hardest part of writing sitting down and turning the laptop on?

Like once I do this I am fine.

But getting to this point? It can take me days.

Let’s do a proper introduction!

I write thrillers, horror, dystopians, sci-fi, fantasy, and dark contemporary novels. YA and adult.

I’m a PhD student studying intersections between the gothic and prehistory.

I have a herd of Shetland ponies and three adorable Guinea pigs.

I just got approved to view two documents from the Hungarian Parliament’s Library for my writing research and now I feel so scholarly.

I have just spent two hours in high-security archives, sitting next to Daphne du Maurier’s actual writing desk, while reading folklorist Theo Brown’s research on canine ghosts. #novelresearch

I am feeling like such a scholarly writer because I just booked a reservation for the Special Collections Reading Room to examine 20 boxes of handwritten notes and manuscripts from 20th century folklorist Theo Brown. This is for novel research!

One of my earliest memories is going to the mermaid’s pool (Black Mere Pool in the Peak District) with my parents, and today I got to go back there with my godparents! The pool is said to be bottomless and a mermaid lives there.
