Pulling out my old Blood and Fire: the History of Latin America for the present day. Maduro belongs in prison for sure, but if I recall correctly, American corporate exploitation is what drove them to revolutions and autocracy to begin with. We probably should be aware of that as we try it again.

I was lucky enough to snag a W00T Stout from Stone's brewery in Richmond. I did not attend Comicon, but that Will Wheaton is my favorite voice actor for Scalzi books on Audible. It is a good stout with strong licorice undertones.

It is like when a kid isn't talented at sports, or spelling, or chess (or anything) but you don't want to destroy their self-esteem. So you just have a friend make up a medal and give it to him. That kid will parade around all day and be so proud, that he'll finally shut up about not having a medal

Snell has been lights out for a while now. Our starting pitching has been overlooked by the pundits who only see the 93 wins.
My only complant is that we will sweep the Reds and then Snell and Yamamoto may not see the mound vs the Phillies.

Wasn't a bad series. Bats showed up and starting pitching was great. Bull pen is the only scary thing. We all hold our breath when Scott or Treinen come out to the mound even with a 5 run lead.

I've started to enjoy Elvira Bary's youtube station discussing Russia's collapase. She discusses topics like demographics and education and how cost, small living spaces, industrialization drove USSR from 7 kids per family to 1.4 and I have to compare how our system is taking us to the same place.
