Is your starter Pokémon alright?

Hei Bai's unique selling point is that they get stronger when you sacrifice creatures, so try to include lots of small creatures that can pump the panda up like Siege Veteran, Luminarch Aspirant, and Tempered Veteran.

Since Hei Bai doesn't have any evasive key words, I recommend cards that can grant it flying, trample, or menace like Wing It, Angelic Destiny, or Demonic Embrace. All That Glitters is also great in Voltron deck because of how well it scales when you've got lots of auras and equipment in play.(2/3)

A Voltron deck is one that makes the commander massive using auras, equipment, counters etc.

In Hei Bai's case you'll want cards that grant them +1/+1 counters to take advantage of the fact that their counters move onto another creature if they die.(1/3)

It's a single player social deduction game that tells a pretty great story about being trapped in a time loop.

It's also wonderfully and unreservedly gay.

Oh my goodness, I loved Darren Shan's books when I was growing up! They made a film adaptation of Cirque du Freak and I was so excited, but then it was absolutely terrible. 😅

Theros. I was a massive Greek mythology kid growing up and seeing Magic do its take on all of those tropes and characters was great. Heliod was such a jerk, but then Zeus was no saint either.

The gameplay of building up big Voltron creatures with Heroic was also great fun. :)
