Here's a piece that was really interesting to write. Turbulence is a board game about the experience of the Chinese diaspora living in Indonesia. I met the game's designer at @gamestransformed.bsky.social and she gave me some insights both into the game's design and the history that inspired it.
Turbulence is an independently produced game, which aims to recreate the challenges faced by the Chinese community living in Indonesia, during a period of real upheaval and societal change. @macreadymusings.bsky.social checks it out in today's Card Gamer feature:

Here's my review of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection. It's an interesting compilation of 14 Yu-Gi-Oh! games from the late nineties and early noughties. Some of them have really stood the test of time and are great fun... Some of them have not.
