The hysteria about neutrality needs to end, if we don't wake up an attack on an EU leader may occur during the Irish presidency. To remain neutral you have to be able to defend it.....We cannot continue to bury our head in the sand over out of date principles.

This is so unbelievably embarrassing our insistence that neutrality is sacrosanct despite our inability to defend it
When it comes to modern war, Ireland is a high-value target: its waters on the western fringe of Europe contain three-quarters of all undersea cables in the northern hemisphere. Despite this, is unprotected and unprepared.

.@mark-carney.bsky.social has won, I wish him well but I thought @chrystia-freeland.bsky.social did a better interview and her knowledge of Russia/Ukraine made her a compelling candidate. Canada is lucky to have two such strong candidates and I hope Carney makes her his foreign minister.

Here's something that takes seconds and could have actual positive outcomes.

There is an official 'citizen's petition' system in the EU. There's one open at the moment to ban conversion therapy for LGBT+ people in the EU.

Said the least masculine man….(just gentle irony I’m not un the business of defining masculinity)
My favorite part of Zuckerberg's Joe Rogan interview is when he suggests there is not enough masculine energy at his company, where two out of every three employees is a man.

Very little to disagree with here and while Ireland is not as bad there are many of his suggestions (such as a social media ban for under 16, (Australia is adopting this afaik)) that we could implement
