Yeah I mean I think that Eze would have been better for us (just through force of personality if nothing else) and Xavi would have been eased in more by Arsenal but I think a lot of it is just playing with Rice and Zubimendi vs Bentancur and Palhinha.

Yeah tbh I don’t really get what Liverpool’s plan was. Which is unlike them.

I’d guess that it’s not completely untrue but if your instruction is to sit deep and press high when you’ve got a safe opportunity to do so then the players aren’t going to be able execute that against Arsenal who don’t give you many safe opportunities to press high. So it’s bad instructions.

Having players to pass you the ball is helpful for creative player. Who knew.

You fix the system with talent but you only bring the best out of talent with a good system.

This was at 0-0.

Yeah it’s all lacking in ambition.
November 23, 2025 at 6:22 PM
Yeah we didn’t need to be this bad and assume Frank had a fairly big say in bringing in the players we brought in anyway.
November 23, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Did you really need to add another physical midfielder who isn’t a good passer? Did you need to add two more strikers who are kind of wingers? All in positions where we weren’t good enough anyway.
November 23, 2025 at 6:19 PM
You have to offer some threat going the other way though. And without Porro or Xavi we just don’t have a way out.
November 23, 2025 at 5:15 PM
Yeah true. They can both pass short distances better than the rest of the team even if they aren’t going to hit anything brilliant.
November 23, 2025 at 3:53 PM
Don’t mind going to a back five here. Do mind that we only have one player in there that is good at passing.

Is Micky injured?

Idk really - I feel like lost duels in certain zones? I’m not a stats expert just with errors leading to shots (or goals) - there’s basically always an error but they only categorise it sometimes? Which is subjective and therefore not that useful.

“Errors leading to a shot” is a rubbish statistic.
