From accompanying article: Plans for a $1.25 million expansion of Metropolitan Stadium were outlined in an informal private meeting of Minneapolis aldermen Monday. The new two-deck section would add more than 5,000 seats, bringing the stadium's capacity to close to 50,000, according to Gerald Moore, chairman of the Metropolitan Sports Area Commission, which operates the stadium. The new stands would extend from the left field foul line to mid - center field. Bench-type seats with backs would be installed rather than individual seats, but otherwise construction will match the present stadium.
