Running since 2014, the M365 North User Group is a friendly community who share knowledge, best practices, ideas and skills.
We have monthly sessions, predominantly online, featuring Microsoft 365, Azure and Power Platform experts, and global MVPs.
Think carefully about the traps. #AI can seem so confident (and easy) that it comes with risks.
Questions should be asked by people who know something about the answer
Double check the answers!! Get others to input/review.

Thinking... fast and slow

Examples of #AI prompts; of increasing quality
(note the GCSE structure - see above).

Then use some conversation controls

#AI is great at creating demonstration data

If you want to do demos with fictional data it'll do it for you at scale. That also works in Excel etc.

#Copilot understands a lot of languages. Over a 100; plus the variants on those

Define the tone you want the reply or document should be couched in.

Or ask #AI what it thinks your style or tone is and may ask it to emulate it.
And maybe ask it to warn you if you are not being yourself... in communications.
Also ask it to help you with inclusiveness.
And maybe change the POV

Also tell #AI what kind of output you want. It'll handle more than you expect..
It'll handle Markdown formatting too

'Mega verbs' used to tell AI what you want, ~200 of them!

Learn many of them. The order makes a difference.

Tell #AI what content sources to use. It's fine to say, 'All communication', or me specific if appropriate - emails, teams messages, this file, conversations with that person, for example.

To begin with talk to AI like an intern. As it learns about you (and v.v) it can take on different roles.

Good conversations follow he GCSE model

When people first use chat #AI they start from what they know, which is Search. Instead of asking a question they learned to just use keywords or short phrases, the "Search engine mindset"

When you go to a cafe you don't just say 'Tea'; you explain what you want, then discuss details

The #Copilot journey starts with building out skills at the base, i.e. staff. That's what enables departmental and finally organisational productivity

Copilot is surfaced in many user applications (experiences in MS-speak); however many organisations try to jump straight to the organisational AI
November 25, 2025 at 7:05 PM
Copilot is grounded in the #MicrosoftGraph, which means all this stuff.
i.e. most of the content and communication that flows through #Microsoft365 within your organisation.
Yes, it's secure. No it doesn't use your data to train the #AI model.

Many people feel like they are cheating using AI to help them. The trick is to take on the mundane stuff so they can learn to do the higher value things.
Productivity gains vary by role. We have to choose where the best fit to apply AI lays. Studies revealed a 11x11 tipping point.

Technology was moving breathlessly fast. Then #AI came along and accelerated it.
But perhaps AI can help us adapt, adopt and accelerate too.

We will look at SharePoint stuff: Brand Centre, Agents and flexible sections.

We'll also jump into Autofill (more interesting than you might expect) and a look at AI pricing and cost management.

That should keep us all busy. Starting in 45 minutes

Here's the nub of the issue around overweight and obese children (currently 28%), which sets the context for Melissa's session.
#SharePoint and #MicrosoftTeams can't solve the underlying problem, but it can help charities who are tackling it.
