A lot of us have really complicated relationships with our bodies, and food and exercise that produce disordered behaviours to varying degrees and I really don’t think that people’s bodies should be a source of public controversy.

I don’t think that famous people have a responsibility to demonstrate good mental or physical health. I think the second a magazine editor or whatever runs a story fetishising a physical aesthetic or a means of achieving a an aesthetic which is generally the product of poor health that’s cooked.

Like Brian the leg breaking guy and Daryl the meth kingpin were outliers in a community of criminals who were mostly doing the kind of crimes that lots of people do, people who don‘t identify as criminals and who don’t get identified as criminals do.

It’s also interesting to grow up around criminals and then transition to a different lifestyle and realise that like, people who aren’t criminals do so many crimes… they just aren’t criminalised.

I kind of liked working in construction because it felt more normal to work in the kind of environment where like $1 million worth of stuff walked off site every year and nobody turned up to work on the random drug test morning.
