I design stuff for #3Dprinting. Most of my designs can be found here: https://www.printables.com/@lytta

they/them

I try to only repost image posts that have alt text/image descriptions. (This includes sometimes adding them myself.)
I also tested these!

Not pictured here: tests with PETG. Most of the fabrics survived (the yellow mesh (big circle) did not)

i have finally entered my 'pause print to add stuff' era. i don't know why it took me this long

all the smaller whistles i've tested are rights limited and don't allow remixing so i'm tempted to try and figure out how to make a whistle myself

i think a single one took 17 minutes

(i'm afraid to try it at full volume lol)

they definitely work! you can get solid surfaces with a couple of layers of PLA. or PETG. source: i printed the whistle shown here last night and it's in front of me :P

in theory this would be an earring, probably! i think i need a nicer tulle... and i could heat deform it after printing so it curls a bit

it's all being designed for PLA!

*will hopefully be

i am tired from press-rubbing a wooden spoon over paper

P.S. this project has been eating my life. I now have little bead organizers full of letters. I have an OpenSCAD program for generating new letters that will hopefully by user friendly, and a javascript-powered webpage for previewing how text will split up over lines and pages.

bonus: the top line of letters is one of my earliest attempts at the alphabet and the bottom is my most recent one. i spent possibly too much time trying to dial in my settings better.

ultimately the most important factor is just turning off z-hop for the top layer so you avoid a lot of tiny bumps.

Since I avoid using supports as much as possible, the screw holes print perpendicular to the bed with a little section of the threads removed. This seems to work okay with a large custom thread size.
