2014 borders and NATO membership (Swiss style neutrality is a more worthy goal) were always unrealistic. If any deal looks better than that which Boris Johnson helped to scuttle in 2022, I'll be surprised. The sad difference is that so many Ukrainians died needlessly in the interim.

Anyone convicted of sedition needs a full pardon (not just a commutation) for that offense. Long before Eugene Debs went to prison under that malleable standard, it belonged in the same discredited category as blasphemy laws.
