Oh no. 😬 I'd be upset too.

That's even worse than the ones where I am about to take a bite of the best food that's ever been laid in front of me and wake up and it isn't there.

Well today's renders are also a lot more detailed and higher res too. 😂 Output has increased alongside the tech improvements so it makes sense.

I mean it is a damn good looking render though.

Flashbacks to the mid 2000s when a friend would send me his files to render because his computer was on the fritz and that last step required the most computing power. I had to have him walk me through Blender controls enough to get it started and run it overnight LOL

I'd like to be there for what may be his first chemo treatment (sometimes they can start right away) but I have my own screening a couple days later. x.x Thankfully mine is PROBABLY fine. Just need to save energy to drive while sick.

(Do not ask how big my tea collection is... last time I had a full cabinet I stopped counting at 50 varieties. Granted my current inventory is smaller than what I used to keep in stock. Hazards of having to share cabinet space with a partner who needs room for his spices. 🤣)

Anyway the tldr is I don't think you'd be robbing him if you focus on quality of life over quantity. Obviously being able to get both would be ideal but when that isn't possible we have to weigh it out as best we can.

But you have to trust yourself to know what your cat can tolerate. We've chosen to fight because even our boy's pre-treatment has him bouncing back so fast it would feel wrong for us NOT to try the chemo. If it starts to degrade his quality of life we'll reassess.

It depends on what kind of cancer, from what we were told. We're getting ready to start our boy on treatment for stomach cancer, and it's been my understanding that if it's lymphoma the treatment can also increase quality of life for cats. They tolerate it better than dogs iirc.
