Actual depiction of something that happened to my partner in game. Sage apparently had a weapon drawn while fast traveling which bumped into a guard?? And they all started attacking. And one said this line as he died.

I regret to say that pretty much every approval level for Kes is going to be "shit, sorry, were you talking to me?" 😂
I did give them a bit higher INT than the default druid stats but if they're not actively engaged in conversation they are probably distracted with something.

Ah nope you CAN disable it on a per channel basis (and it looks like FOR NOW as a viewer you should also be able to stop it from upscaling in the video quality settings in the player itself, which you WILL have to do per video)
