And I told him that I’m running for office for pretty much all the same reasons. We had a lovely moment of connection, he thanked me for running for office and he emphasized we ALL need to fight for our democracy and for our country.

He narrated one of our performances, giving a European tour of political history set to music. I thanked him for using his platform to speak out boldly against the rising threat to our democracy, and for teaching his enormous public following the warning signs to look for on the dark road to facism.
