The growling stopped, replaced with the saddest "mew" I have ever heard. Got her home and when I opened the carrier, she fled to what I call my porch room and hid. A while later, I caught her looking at me through what used to be a window. So, I put her food, water and litter box in there. /3

she could be touched was with a backscratcher. She was not mean, she was terrified - could see it in her face. But, they got her in the carrier and brought her to me. She was growling by that point. Again, terrified. For the ride home, I put her in the front seat and buckled her in. /2
