Retired, married for ages, based in Normandie but usually in a motorhome somewhere else. Love music, festivals, sewing, cooking. Native English and deeply embarrassed about it. Fluent in French, less so in Dutch and German, restaurant Spanish and Italian.
Hola again from a slightly chilly but sunny Cordoba - we decided to stay another day and spent it just wandering around the old town. Not too busy, not too touristy, perfect weather. Today we're on the move, as we have a gig to go to in Madrid tomorrow. Have a great day, all.

Hola Cats and ORCs from Cordoba. We've driven round it many times, but this time we stopped for the night and it's delightful. Moorish and gothic architectural mashups, winding narrow streets, excellent food. Might stay another night. Have a great day, all.

Hola from Archidona - inland from Málaga. The motorhome aire is free and ideally placed to watch a fabulous sunset last night. Off in search of breakfast in a bit, but first a big mug of tea. Cat lovers may appreciate the toilet attendant at our parkup yesterday morning. Have a great day, all!

Hola Cats and ORCs from sunny Nerja (again). Said goodbye to Mum and brother, then went on another tapas trail last night. Bacon butties and tea first, then a day at the beach for a late November swim, meandering up to Madrid by Saturday via a few nice places. Have a great week, all.

You may think we over ordered. I couldn't possibly comment.

Hola! Yesterday we had biblical rain here on the Costa. Some water got in the van, but only in one cupboard. We've still to work out how. Today is fine, so we're on a 4km walk to get some churros so we can walk off the sugar on the way back. Have a good day, all.

Hola from Fuengirola, sunny but autumnal. Visited Mum and brother y'day. She's happy and comfortable, but asking questions about where she is, which is new. She's not eating a lot but given the state of my brother's cooking I'm not surprised. Mozzies got me again 😬 have a great day, all!

Hola from Murcia, where we are parked up with a few hundred other vans. We found out there are now two all you can eat sushi places in the mall, so of course we tried the new one. Very blingy decor, but all the food was great esp. the tuna tataki. Onwards we go to Nerja today. Have a great day, all.

Bonjour Cats and ORCs. Too much walking y'day in Paris, but ate very well, and found a book in a secondhand store that we'd lost in a house move - it was right by the door! Taking it easy today, with lots of stops for coffee to rest my knees. Have a great day, all.

This is my favourite herbal tea when milk isn't an option. Don't care about the Ayurvedic properties, it tastes warming, spicy, a bit orangey, and satisfying as a cuppa. Plus the name's a winner, isn't it? I'd like a cup of Joie de Vivre please!

Les petites Cascades looking all Middle Earth-ish yesterday

Bonjour mes ORCs. Trip to Granville y'day and a visit to Christian Dior's family home. The gardens were delightful. Long drive home, so we were all tired, hence the late post. No rain forecast, so a walk around Les Cascades at Mortain will be enough excitement for today. Have a good day all.

Went into a charity shop in Salford yesterday and found the exact same dinner service that my parents had in the 70s. Hornsea Pottery - so heavy it needed reinforced kitchen shelves. Very brown.

This is my handy beltbag which is great for flying, as it lays flat on your hip under a jacket but you can fit quite a lot of stuff in it. Tissues, key, lip balm, a handful of coins, passport, notebook and pen, phone. From a small designer based in Bristol, foragedesign.com
Highly recommended.

This t-shirt was on a Fête des Pères display in a local supermarket in Vire. I don't know what to think about it. Does it mean something innocuous to French people?

Bonjour Guy et les ORCs. The kouign amann was definitely worth the trek up and down Dinan. Back home now, so a day of admin, unpacking the motorhome, and washing. Knee scan y'day confirmed arthritis, still not bad enough for surgery. Have a great day, all.

Bonjour, brighter today so looks like I might have to attack the weeds. Might get a bit of sewing in later, lots of repairs mounting up. Plus a commission for a roll-up backgammon set from son's workmate, like the one I made for his birthday. Chuffed he's still using it! Have a great day, all.

Bonjour Les ORCs. Moho stuff all washed, now to put it all back in! Cough almost gone, WiFi continues flaky. This week I will mostly be doing tax returns, so cursing and comfort eating will probably also be happening. Pic of our wisteria because it's pretty. Have a good day, all.

The wisteria doing its thing. I don't do anything to it except hack it back twice a year before it tries to get in through the windows.
