The reality of what happened was very different to the sanitised version we learnt about at school. My thoughts are with all the Hibakusha (survivors of the A-bomb) today as they commemorate the events of 80 years ago (and again on the 9th when the 2nd A-bomb was dropped on Nagasaki)
