So I started listening to @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social’s The Anthropocene Reviewed (thanks Reddit poster who recommended it!) and I’ve really been enjoying it. Tonight I was absolutely blown away by the Googling Strangers episode. It was astounding. Thank you for the brutal honesty of it.

As someone who is on day 8 of a cough/cold picked up when travelling and is really tired of being sick, I’m kicking myself for not masking in the airport.
Sometimes when people ask me why I’m wearing a mask I say I’m traveling or have some important thing soon and can’t afford to get sick and miss it and that’s pretty much always true but I think it would be nice if it were more normalized to just say “I don’t want to get sick” and leave it at that

I am so sick of being sick with this cough/cold. Home from vacation 10 days and I want this to have end led already. Especially since we don’t have our snow tires yet, won’t get them until the 27th and it’s going to snow for 3 days starting tomorrow. 😖😩😡

Don’t think folks are fully digesting the fact that, beyond any given policy, everyone from ordinarily people to global leaders will have no reason to believe commitments, promises, even laws issued by the United States ultimately hold any lasting weight. Entire postwar system rests on this premise

Last year I sprained my finger and woke up the next day to a purple mess & having to get my rings cut off. I asked them if they could use leeches so I could keep my rings uncut but no dice. I wish we’d been in Ottawa, I just found out about leech therapy here on the This Is Ottawa podcast.

Boxes & paper are gradually being picked up from Kajiji post, new chesterfield arrived today, walked to our polling station to vote in the provincial election (so easy!!), kitchen is getting better organized, delicious dinner out at our local Indian restaurant, Dhruvees, & grocery shop. Good day!

Still chaotic but more progress being made! Empty boxes from the bedroom ready to be broken down. Gin & tonics are a lovely reward for today’s hard work!
