Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trusting a lot of people in positions of authority. Now more than ever. But if the entire chain of command isn’t trustworthy, then are you suggesting we replace them all with JAG officers? (that the solution may be “more lawyers,” means we’re doubly screwed 😂)

It’s quite unlikely that the president would give an order directly to a private. There are a lot of higher-ranked personnel that the orders would filter through before reaching the lower ranks, most of whom would absolutely know the legality of an order.
