Here we are, just a few days shy of a year since this post, and Bluesky is experiencing a huge influx of users, mostly Twitter/X refugees. So far, engagement is mostly positive… Now I’m waiting to see if the dredges of Twitter/X also attempt to gain a foothold here.
Ok, new rule: Every new social media platform should now come with a “Best if Used By/Before” date on the splash screen.
I don’t know how to calculate that date, but it seems every platform reaches a critical mass of less-than-optimal behavior from a growing number of members and loses its appeal.
