One of the big problems is that if you want to keep your job in UX or similar roles, you need to "show impact," which involves making changes. Since most tech is pretty much optimal at this point, that entails switching from rounded to squared icons, etc. Or the reverse once that becomes the default

Who knows how all this is going to shake out in a regulatory environment that's focussed on protecting companies from liability though. There are a lot of issues that pit rich companies against one another though, so things could get dicey for the AI industry.

LLMs got developed mainly by companies invested heavily in bullshit industries that don't actually matter (advertizing, etc). This makes it a horrendous fit for big girl industries that actually do matter and have important confidentiality, data protection, auditing, and other requirements.

I think FF13 mostly did a decent job with its female characters (even if the talks the devs had about lightning were… weiiiiiiird), but good luck with every game after that, except maybe 14 i guess.

Also, c'mon. The Metroid games are about desolation and loneliness (and ancient technology). Having ANY other characters who aren't some combination of "dead for eons" and "antagonistic" totally undermines that vibe.
