It was an interesting viewpoint I hadn't seen addressed, as it tends towards the Cancel Culture thats seems in line with attacking comedians or actors for personal beliefs or something they post about. People seem too high-strung and easily get upset about something that shouldn't be.

Bill Maher has a similar view on the cancel culture aspect of society, stating that liberals are too easily jumping on the bandwagon to cancel anyone they dont like. That makes them too unlikable, instead of sitting down and trying to communicate with them.

It gets worse when you realize that in Saudi Arabia, they recently executed a journalist, making his statement of having more free speech there questionable. Who are you speaking for? Is it for a group or to attack another? But then you have to look at it on an ethical perspective-

The problem with that is, on face value, you could agree with Chappelle that his speech was being restricted; however, the jokes that were targeting Trans people and Gaza, both of which are not in the best of places at the moment.

According to Chappelle, he can "speak more freely here" when he was doing a stand-up show in Saudi Arabia earlier this year. That was in response to SNL restricting what he could say with his opening monologue, which was not aligned with the company's values.

We live in an era where corporations dominate and control much of what we consume. Whether thats right or wrong can be debated. Comedians state that it can be an attack on their own free speech, as it restricts what they can and cannot say.

it's important to try and understand the reasonings for anyone being targeted. On one hand, it can be due to religious or personal views, even political views. Others, it's to set a president.
