The other one I read about was the Austrian Jewish Cabaret artist, and many others, was Fritz Grunbaum. He did stand-up comedy shows and was a prominent anti-Nazi before the invasion of Austria, where he tried to flee. He was caught and sent to a Camp before his death.

During the rise of the Nazi Party in Germany, Hitler targeted anyone who spoke poorly of him and his movement. One of whom was Kurt Gerron, a German Jewish actor and director, who was famous before WW2; he was forced to create Nazi propaganda before being sent to Auschwitz and killed.

There are two stories of the Egyptian-American Comedian Bassem Youssef.
The first is that he was sent into exile from Egypt after making satirical jokes on his Jon Stewart-style show, regarding the government. That was before the military coup disposed the government. He left for Los Angeles after.

Following the trend of the use of oppression by an authoritarian-style regime is that of Putin. In late 1999, the puppet satirical show portrayed Putin as a malevolent dwarf. The showrunners were later put into a position of either working for more politically aligned studios or closing down.
