The route I read involves a fast and furious style escape over the Ecuadorian border as the kids discuss how private toll roads would have been the best way to prepare for this earthquake

He also mentions that rumpelstiltskin is the true hero of his titular fairy tale.

They meet pietro, a libertarian prepper inside his doomsday bunker internet Cafe where he makes them convert their money to a stable currency: bitcoin.

Thankfully no government can manipulate it in any way at all.

There's talk of more solid currency like gold and silver but also in the midst of a national disaster...

They have a greedy local guide who ends up dying in a dam disaster still clutching their less inflationary (but still infationary) American dollars

You can see the original explanation of the suggestion feature and test for yourself to see that small games don't really come up for it. Anyone can test what itch said and confirm that it is the truth. You don't have to take their word or my word for it.
August 15, 2025 at 10:03 PM
There never was any evidence that itch was specifically doing anything with sfw yuri content, the article mentions search suggestions, which it doesn't sound like the games would have ever qualified for.

This is the part that was misinformation. There is no evidence at all of sfw yuri targeting.
August 15, 2025 at 10:03 PM
You can see this is how it works by searching for various words, like "crayon" which has no search suggestions, but plenty of results. Itch is not suppressing games about crayons, this is just how the suggestion feature works.
August 15, 2025 at 10:03 PM
If the article showed that a larger yuri release, such as highway blossoms that is large enough to have likely been in the suggestions before, but was no longer there, then it would have been some points to the idea that yuri was being targeted.
August 15, 2025 at 2:26 PM
Do you have any proof or evidence at all that these games were in search suggestions then removed?

Lots of things don't show up in suggestions like itch has said.
August 15, 2025 at 2:26 PM
There are multiple games with caving in the name but they don't show up in suggestions either.
August 15, 2025 at 2:09 PM
But the claim here is that games don't appear in the suggestions because they're yuri and that yuri is being targeted by this when not nsfw, but there's no evidence of that at all and itch's explanations of how suggestions work is observable.
August 15, 2025 at 2:09 PM
What exactly was presented here? There's no evidence games that were in these suggestions were removed. I could use the exact same logic to say games with crayon in the name are being removed from the suggestions.
August 15, 2025 at 2:09 PM
The article in question only mentions search suggestions not having a developers games. Something that just applies to tons of games.
August 15, 2025 at 10:48 AM
That's no reason to believe that games titled caving are being hidden. If itch had been hiding Yuri games and just now undid that it would have been very easy to verify and prove, but no evidence has been provided.

Things were confusing, and communications vague.
August 15, 2025 at 5:36 AM
This can be replicated with many other search terms and it is irresponsible to keep accusing them of lying when the only evidence mentioned of these sfw works being targeted applies to many other random English words.
August 15, 2025 at 5:24 AM
The article specifically mentions search suggestions, not results.

It's very simple to test if other games with no connection to anything going on are also not appearing in suggestions.

But we have no evidence at all that any of these titles appeared in suggestions before this.
