One fantastic milestone in 2025 was our Ofcom licence, this had been an idea for a decade or longer. Another positive in 2025, apart from the fantastic music, was the continuing project to return the fire-damaged sections of the ship to a usable space. It is hoped to conclude this during 2026.

Here I am (on the left!), stood with the boss of @lv18radio.uk , just after we'd met up at the media event in Ipswich yesterday afternoon at the Suffolk Archives building.

We start proceedings at 9am on Aug 14th with a 3 hours special on the new single releases of 11 Aug '67 ... the last batch of new singles that would be played on most of the stations because of the Marine etc Offences Act.

The book title "The Boat That Frocked" was inspired whilst @shirazturvey.co.uk was on board the LV18 - the ship was in Portland Harbour in 2009 for filming scenes in 'The Boat That Rocked' film.

We were back on 1575khz about 45 mins after the above notice.

For info, the transmitter is on our ship, in Harwich Harbour, and runs at just 1 Watt. It is intended (& licenced) for a very small broadcast area!
