Why we keep spending money to move out of towners though our city instead of money to keep neighbors ina beautiful city is the greatest injustice I will never understand.

It's fugly, and frankly I can't believe we built this before we built the 1st ave streetcar or a connection between Ballard and the U.

The only way to make traffic not worsen is to remove the roads where the bad traffic is.

they should just shut that shitshow down and see what happens. I would imagine less than all that health and quality of life damage.

The sad part is it won't happen in our lifetimes. That's why the roadmap is to move back to Europe.

As a teenager, I hated them. I didn’t go for decades. Then I went to the Seattle one last year and was soooo disappointed (entry fee, chain linked fence, super crowded, Not close to anything so can’t walk there). Then I went back to Zurich in ‘24, now back to lake Constance this year.

Overlay that graph on how space is allocated today, how it should be allocated in 2030 then list the projects that reallocate the space, with completion dates Thank you for coming to my project management 101 course.

What we need is public spaces. And I mean not just cafes (those too) but gathering spaces that are free.

I think the worst part is that it sets up seattle for ghettoisation into the long foreseeable future. Renting will never be nice and the jump to a house is unattainable. If only there were respectable, nice apartments that you could aspire to live in vs. compromise to live in.

I don't even think that's a woke opinion. that's what the mayor of Paris and Barcelona ran on 13+ years ago.

I really really hope so but I never heard her emphasize this in any way. We can only hope this is an output of her general vision, but it's not been a centerpiece. It's been about housing. So I am very curious if my bet this year on visionary and spiritual alignment pays off. It didn't with McGinn

Congratulations this is wonderful news, the nimby’s are out, this city has a future, I will celebrate with an IPA, not from Fremont brewing.

Could this be the 3-D Chess move? RE-open the government as it would force this vote while people can travel during Thanksgiving and not bitch about the closed government, see this and the republican vote in Dec to refuse ACA subsidies and show the true faces?

It's embarrassing that it's this close, but I knew this would happen! A year ago I sent a mail to Bruce asking him to do the right thing in the comp plan because he will get voted out anyway. Glad to see that is now happening.

I think this was their plan to make up for the short comings of the comp plan that was all about giving in to nimby's. Just think of the great walkability on 1st or 4th ave that would have been. So for me, good this failed. For the wrong reasons, but the right outcome.
