I had the honor of spending an incredible day at Stanford with @carolynbertozzi.bskyverified.social. Her exuberance for science & her students made her an exceptional Nobel Laureate. Her unwavering commitment to the field of research, amidst it’s greatest challenge, makes her an exceptional hero.
I urge others to similarly support our patriots at NIH who use their training and talents to improve human health and position the US as the world’s leader in biomedical discovery, innovation and technology development 🙏
Stanford's professor and Bethesda Declaration signatory @carolynbertozzi.bskyverified.social notes that the declaration “represents the voices of the highly trained Americans at NIH who want to serve their country and steward the biomedical enterprise.” 🧪

It's mind-boggling to realize the fact that "you can't get there from here" was completely disregarded and seemingly irrelevant. Kudos to all the agencies that acted quickly to prevent downstream flooding and minimize losses as much as possible.
1. There was no invasion.

2. The water that got "opened up" was in the San Joaquin Valley.

3. The water never made it to Los Angeles.

‘It’s all been scrapped’: Women in wildland firefighting bootcamps canceled after DEI cuts
Women already had an intimidating entry point to the male-dominated field. Trump's orders to dismantle DEI in the federal government could hurt years of progress.
