Interested in science, especially physics, evolutionary biology, psychology. Hunting fungi mostly not to eat them, a bit of an amateur mycologist. Chess noob. From Czechia.
Exactly. There are things that are OK to do with an adult but not with a child but here we are talking about things that are horrible and totally unacceptable no matter the age.

What do you think?

Do you have info about the taxonomy?
A wax cap I found that was identified by others as Cuphophyllus roseascens/radiatus. Not sure if those two are separate taxons, if so, which one is mine. Very rare in Czechia and a rare wax cap in general.

Dnešní nález (do druhu neurčená voskovka). Voskovky bohužel asi brzy utne mráz, ale vyrazit na houby jde po celý rok.

The tip was based on a horrible smartphone pic though I should mention.

That was first that came to my mind but that sp. isn't known from Czechia and my loc. isn't where you would expect it cons. distrib. in Europe. The tip I got was some Amaurodon sp., it grew quite high above ground but Amaurodon is perhaps an exception in tomentelloid fungi probably not mycorrhizal.

They can argue he might not even be an ephebophile. Very well, so perhaps he just sought young victims because their were easier targets. Like that's somehow better? 'Oh, look, he wasn't that bad, he wasn't even really mainly into those he abused, he just liked having power over them.'

And it's not either. Like Epstein perhaps might have been an ephebophile (or not) but who cares? It's not about that he might have been attracted to adolescents. It's that he raped them. That he trafficked them to others. I don't care who he was into, he did those acts.

I think it's probably some weirdly developed fruiting body but it looks cool.

What a nice log! Once I found ~20 fungi species on a single fallen beech trunk. (But I've heard one can find >60.)

You need to look carefully to spot fungi like this one. (I haven't spotted it yet.) But try spotting Sarea difformis. (I think this might take me some time.)

You know what absolutely sucks? Search on Youtube. By design. Forcing videos you are not searching for on you constantly. All those you might like, previously watched, related etc. Like half of the search results is spam. There is not even a way to dislike those suggestions.

Last time I picked these during a mycological excursion they turned out to be Tricholoma equestre. Most of my localities are both with Populus tremula and Pinus sylvestris. I heard flesh should be somewhat different between these two species but also that it's not reliable.

Here some "mainstream" Hygrocybe conica s. l. in a good waxcap season (2023). Plus a forest H. conica s. l., I have never seen an other waxcap that conica group in a forest (although it is mentioned for some), conica group three times. I'm wondering if those from forest are different.

It is also important to distinguish between sexual responsivity patterns and between acts. What Epstein and Trump did were acts - horrible criminal acts. They likely aren't predominantly into prepubescent children - that doesn't mean they didn't commit horrible abusive acts.

These might be Hygrocybe conicopalustris, possibly one of those disctinct species (but I haven't found whether it's proven to be a separate species and if there isn't more) characterised by small size and ecology (wet grasslands / bogs).
