I don't really know what I'm doing.
I've always considered that puzzle kind of a trick question. It's true mathematically, but it's not true in practice because the algae would have to grow perfectly efficiently, which is very unlikely (even moreso if you're talking about, say, a human population).

True, just like you can have a different reader read the intro or outro... It's the actual text of the book that is supposed to be read by exactly one voice and no other sound

We found a way to turn exponential gains into linear gains that might one day turn back into exponential gains.

Cory Doctorow frequently compares it to the Dotcom Bubble, which I think is fascinating, because it's not like the popping of that bubble meant that *the Internet* ceased being a significant part of the economy and life in general.

Interstellar. Fully 2/3s of that movie are good enough to be a successor to eg 2001, but there's an extra 1/3 of mediocre sentimentality mixed in, like a really good pizza that accidentally has ketchup instead of tomato sauce.

If I draw a person well enough that you can easily recognize them, I will probably be called an artist. If I *describe* a person well enough that you can easily figure out who I'm talking about, people will be like, ok

Yes, but also, the opposite. Using language is a craft so difficult that it literally takes years to learn. But almost everyone learns it. So the added value of a master language-user is all marginal, and thus more subjective, harder to teach, and more likely to be defined as art.

(To be clear, though, that was the closest thing to a Nazi salute I have ever seen which was not intended to be a Nazi salute. That includes gestures by Laura Ingraham, Elizabeth Warren, Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Kamala Harris.)

This is the key to most healthy hobbies!

Taking walks: healthy, free, gets you places

Taking walks in order to maximize economic gain: ?? Weird and stressful and probably very inefficient

Note that the more the game makes this a Feature, the quicker the magic dies. Like if pressing Y activated Detective Vision™ and then have trails of fluorescent mist leading you to actionable items.

In your reading, have you come across any gov intervention that seems to actually, consistently work? Based according to available evidence?

This is clearly some completely unrelated guy, on his way to kill a completely different insurance CEO.

I think it's plausible. The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is only ~4 states away from effectively removing the EC.
