This is still one of my favorite pieces of Mythra fanart I've seen; you captured the scene and her emotions perfectly 💚

I don't tend to comment on art often, but I really like your art a lot man

39) Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

What compels my dad and I to keep going back to the DCEU despite knowing how shit it is?

I'm not even going to give the movie any sort of reverence and make multiple posts for it; it's got a generic "family sticks together" premise and flops in every way possible

I really hate this because of all games, LM2 doesn't deserve this kind of scrutiny, but that price tag is just offensive

I really can't tell you to buy this game full-priced in good faith; either find it second-handed or pray Nintendo'll actually put any of their first party games on sale for once

With how Metroid Prime Remastered and Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are $40 each, LM2, a 3DS game remastered with no new content, being a full-priced Switch game at $60 is an insult to consumers. I can't stress how awful this is, especially with ScareScraper being locked behind an NSO subscription too
December 2, 2025 at 1:47 AM
Besides that though, I still like LM2 and I think more people should give it a shot. Do I recommend buying the game, though? FUCK NO

The fact that Nintendo slapped a $60 price tag is heinous to think about, especially when nothing new is added into the game

I was complimenting the missions earlier, but there are some that drag down the experience. The first two Polterpup missions, the 3rd mansion's boss, and every bonus mission are the ones that come to mind. I honestly preferred if they did something more interesting, or really just remove them all

I'm bummed with the visuals, though. With how stellar and beautiful 3 looks, 2... is just a polished upscale from the original. Normally I don't let visuals affect that much of my enjoyment, but considering 3 came out several years before this remaster, I feel like there's so much missed potential

It's so much more customizable with floor count and what kind of mode you want to play in, being respectful of both time and gameplay preferences. I wish there were more people around playing it, but it's still a great mode

Missions are still full of secrets and treasures, and I think it makes up for at least some of the restrictive system 2 follows

I didn't play as much of ScareScraper here compared to when I was a teen, but I still stand by it being the better mode in 2 over 3 by a country mile; this mode is awesome

While I prefer how 1 and 3 play where their respective mansions are open to you without restriction over 2's level-based structure, I still find most of the levels fairly fun to go thru. I'm also a fan of how environments change btwn levels and how the game rewards you for spotting the changes

38) Luigi's Mansion 2 HD

I played the original on the 3DS a while back and got the remaster a few weeks ago, and honestly, my opinions on it have more or less stayed the same; while I still think this is the weakest entry in the series, I also think it's a really fun game that I feel is overhated

Give it a watch if you want a stylized twist on a classic, but if you're looking for something to faithfully recreate the novel, you may want to look elsewhere; I think too much subtlety gets lost for novel enthusiasts to enjoy fully

While the movie's on the long side (about 2 and a half hours), I'd say the slower pacing and lengthy runtime is needed to get the audience attached to what's happening on screen. The acting is phenomenal, and the visuals are hauntingly appealing

You're grown to love, then quickly abhor Victor, yet you still want to see him carry on through his journey. You're grown to care and root for the Monster despite the level of brutality shown in the opening scene. You become attached to these characters and see how their actions become intertwined
November 14, 2025 at 1:06 AM
The story told through the movie is evidently different from the story told through the novel, and as such, I can't say it's a faithful representation of Frankenstein.

What I will say instead is that it is a very enjoyable interpretation and re-imagination of the classic story
November 14, 2025 at 1:06 AM
Once again, this strips the novel's subtle tones and ambiguity; the point of the story is to question the line between man and monster by giving both a man and his monster unreliable narration and questionable actions, and the movie trades that in for a sympathetic story for the Monster
November 14, 2025 at 1:06 AM
It doesn't stop with Victor either; while the Monster has a brutal opening scene, from the moment you see him in Victor's retelling all the way to the end of the movie, he's presented more as a scared child frightened and confused about everything around him. You can't help but feel empathy for him
