What compels my dad and I to keep going back to the DCEU despite knowing how shit it is?
I'm not even going to give the movie any sort of reverence and make multiple posts for it; it's got a generic "family sticks together" premise and flops in every way possible

I played the original on the 3DS a while back and got the remaster a few weeks ago, and honestly, my opinions on it have more or less stayed the same; while I still think this is the weakest entry in the series, I also think it's a really fun game that I feel is overhated

As a standalone movie, this is really good. As an adaptation to Mary Shelley's novel, I'm a bit more mixed
I'll start with a positive; the movie doesn't shy away from Victor's grotesque works; if anything it embraces how absolutely disgusting Victor's experiments are

Small Lance fact, the Silver Surfer movie was the first superhero movie I've ever watched and despite its many flaws, I fucking loved it as a kid, so the Fantastic Four hold a special place in my heart, and I think First Steps honors that love I have for them

Context: I haven't played a new Pokémon game since Sun back in 2016-17. While I loved Sun to bits, USUM, LGPE, SwSh, and BDSP alienated me pretty hard, and up until a few weeks ago, that was where I left the mainline games
With that said, LGP felt fun, but flawed

After beating Hollow Knight for the first time almost two months ago, I was kind of worried I wouldn't enjoy Silksong as much
Past me should feel like an idiot; Silksong is honestly way more enjoyable, and I think the much harder difficulty is a significant reason why

I watched a good chunk of the original back in middle school and the 2010 reboot even further back, I had a really good time watching this movie call back and honor what came before while still doing its own thing too

Maybe I should've watched Ms. Marvel and Ironheart before I watched this; I prob would've felt more attached to the characters if I did
Either way, I still enjoyed it. For being the first TV-MA animated thing the MCU has done, I was impressed with several of the scenes

Finally played thru all of them over the course of like four and a half months, and I'm really glad I didn't play Ch1 and 2 until just last June, because WOW...
I don't think it would've hit me nearly as hard if the first half of it was 3 years stale in my mind

I watched this like a week ago and didn't even remember until just now, so let that be the precedent for this entry that I hope doesn't take more than three posts lol
I love westerns and sci-fis a bunch, but I feel like the movie ended up being less than the sum of its parts

No yeah this is one of the best animated movies I've ever seen. Even comparing it to the last several arcs and the last movie, this exceeded all of the standards they set up.

As someone who loved the first movie and thought the second movie was okay, this movie felt different, but in a really pleasant way. The bigger focus on the characters and away from humor worked for this prequel movie, and I grew to like most of them by the end

I technically started this game last year but I remember almost nothing from it so I restarted last month, and even tho I haven't 112%'d it yet, I got two endings and just wanna move onto other things
Anyways this is one of the best Metroidvanias I've ever played

Just when I said V was in my top 2 FF games, VI comes in with a fucking bang; I've heard so many people say that this is one of, if not the best entries in the series, and not only can I see why that is, but I completely agree with those sentiments

I think it's hard for me to think of another movie that just tells me "yeah this is Tim Burton at his least restraint self" than this one; from start to finish this reads his humor and aesthetic all over, and I love it

I'm not gonna beat around the bush, not only is this a top 2 Final Fantasy game for me (so far), this is one of the best JRPGs I've played in a mechanical sense; this might honestly be the second-best game I played this year (Xenoblade X still holds the top)

I'm gonna say this as primarily an MCU guy
This movie is so freaking good
The edgy direction they made with Superman in the movies over the past 13 years really turned me away from the character and the DCEU in general, but this I feel is one giant step back in the right direction

I'm also playing thru the 3D remake, so I'll save my comparisons btwn versions for when I finish that first
That being said, I can definitely see why people rank IV as one of the best in the series and really high in people's top FF games list

Tbh for a movie with that kinda name I really didn't expect much, but damn, that animation is some of the best I've ever seen. Every motion, from the dance and fight choreography to even the little, subtle movements, was crafted with so much care and attention to detail

To clarify, I think Squid Game as a whole is amazing and that it's one of the best TV shows I've ever watched
That being said, I think Squid Game S3 suffered the same way Loki S2 did in that you basically need to watch S2 and S3 back to back to get the most out of it

Okay so I definitely like III way more than II, but tbh I'm having a hard time thinking whether this is better or worse than the 3D remake. I'll get to that later; for now, I'll talk about the pros and cons for this game first
