It is not shown super explicitly on screen like there is no body and we don't actively see Frumpkin die, but it's very close and you do hear a bit.

Also SO much Nott being a mom, it was SO good. I never expected that reveal during the campaign, and I think they're foreshadowing so well and so beautifully in the animation. Like obviously we have the classic "he's my boy" which was amazing but the scene with Fjord really stood out to me.

Cat death and M9 spoilers -
I didn't know I needed/wanted representation of being someone to lose a cat violently. It's so specific. My circumstances were very different from Caleb's and it feels funny to focus on that over his parents but Frumpkin also obviously really affected him specifically.

Yeah imo it was beautifully done but Caleb's backstory is so rough, and I tend to handle things well but of course his backstory has my One Thing. Definitely be prepared for family death, cat death, child abuse, and fire. It's all on screen. Incredible episode but OOF.

I don't talk about it much because I just don't post on social media much these days, but ugh I really want to make it good. I'm working on an elevator pitch for it because I don't know how to describe it. It's about dragon riding monks, religious trauma, mommy issues, grief, and dragon fucking.

I have not written super seriously since high school... it's been a long time. I kind of hate my prose but I love what I have with themes and story and arcs. So I've gotta do more writing and get my prose better. I think even with the first draft done I'll be working on the novel for yeara.

I guess I'd rather do that though than write a book *around* tropes though.
