I getcha, the Mol thing was just such a genuine double take from me, and a good reminder why I just stick with F1TV

That one goes without saying but Marko is also really high profile, and SOMEONE'S gotta give Olav Mol some shit for being absolutely fucking shitbrained enough to suggest some DTM fuckery going on

yes, they did the thing when Antonelli went wide

The current engines already derive their deployed hybrid power from the MGU-H once they reach the end of straight phase because the MGU-K doesn't harvest enough to keep it chugging, even on braking-heavy tracks, and even then it's often not enough

The physics don't add up here

People wrote it off as Red Bull being new at the engine game and trying to posture back then, but the uncomfortable truth is they were completely right

The 2026 PUs served to get VAG aboard, and the chassis rules have been chopped and screwed to make those inherently flawed PUs work

(200kw in engine power, not total stored battery power, correction)
November 27, 2025 at 2:28 PM
F1 itself and the contrarians on Reddit will have you believe they're Fine, Actually, and that having to harvest 200kw more *per lap* with less total energy to harvest (the MGU-H being eliminated and all) is totally feasible and doable
November 27, 2025 at 2:24 PM
the entire ''active aero'' thing is just a big bandaid fix to the fact these engines need to derive *more* electrical power than the current PUs from *less* harvesting, because this is F1 and physics don't real
November 27, 2025 at 2:22 PM
the thing that annoys me the most about these rules is that there's a lot of potentially really good ideas - returning to (mostly) flat floors, trying to cut some size and weight out of the cars - mated to some fucking horrible PU regulations, and that the PU regulations enforce a lot of concessions

The redesign art is from XTRO RISC, a book I did about half the art uploads and descriptions for on Sarna, so you could say I'm intricately familiar with it!

Both the original and the Templar III are excellent mechs, and I love them dearly
