McLaren is a team with some fantastic history and I hate rooting against them but I want them to lose this drivers' title just to teach them a lesson on playing games with the championship

I know these aren't particularly controversial statements but I am in genuine awe of what a fucking mess McLaren have made of this title fight, and how badly Piastri has collapsed since Zandvoort
November 30, 2025 at 7:50 PM
That wasn't totally terrible.
November 30, 2025 at 5:37 PM
McLaren is in a bit of a strategic jam here, I think

I'd love the title battle to go to the last race but I also think it'd be a cool storyline if a guy who's so outspoken about his mental struggles, and who's gotten absolutely crucified for every single error by people pushing a narrative, takes the title a race early

I love my double jointed fingers!!!! Especially once the weather gets really cold!!!!
November 29, 2025 at 4:16 PM
That was abysmal. Leave this track for the bikes, please and thanks.

Another week, another bandaid fix to the 2026 regulations before they ever even turn a wheel. Sure hope Audi doesn't leave the moment they learn winning in F1 is actually pretty difficult!

Templar. I was a Mechwarrior 4 girl, and this is one of those designs that never left me (and seems to have only gotten better with age).

I don't own it in plastic yet. One to rectify, one of these days.

happy mclaren double dsq day

Got screwed out of a really cool job because I failed the psych interview. Recruiter was wildly enthusiastic about me, selection committee was unanimous about inviting me back, completely and utterly blew out every single assessment and test only to get failed by a psych graduate (derogatory)

porsche still not beating the ''we only participate in series where we win all the time'' allegations
November 17, 2025 at 2:45 PM
got gatekept out of the dutch lolita community discord today because this apparently isn't lolita enough. i think you could ask chatgpt or whatever other ai slop to gen ''gothic lolita'' and it'd look less on the nose than this dress

Can't help but wonder just how much leeway Mir's title five years ago bought him, and when that leeway's gonna run out
November 15, 2025 at 2:08 PM
we might actually get a real McLaren livery next year
F1 liveries should become a little more exciting going forwards:

The #F1 Commission met today and has agreed that a minimum of 55% of surface area (when viewed from the side and above) must be covered by painted or stickered liveries, as opposed to bare carbon fibre surfaces.

looking at this like, "I painted this? With *my* fucked up fingers?"
tried contrast paints and some other tips and tricks from some really lovely folks. really happy with how it turned out, and glad i didn't totally fuck up one of my fave assault mechs!

shock horror: sometimes it really is better to leave making the rules to the people who have been making the rules for a few decades now

shock horror #2: racing drivers are selfish
I'm enough of a bitch to admit there's some schadenfreude in F1 fans finding out all over again that the rules pushed for by the drivers they deify are Really Bad, Actually

that last sentence is absolutely mint - ''there IS a difference between not liking a rule and not following it''

I think these rules are garbage but I also get that Piastri was in the wrong here. In this case it's cathartic because I'm a Merc/Ferrari girl.

my guy's been on the other side plenty.
I think the Norris/Piastri feedback loop and narratives as to how we've talked about these drivers (In Lando's case as far back as 21), now has folks turning a blind eye to the rulebook on that 3-wide. It's stonewall.

There IS a difference between not liking a rule and not following it.
November 9, 2025 at 8:42 PM
it genuinely boggles my mind that people who *know* what this year's racing rules are like can look at this incident and go ''yep, Piastri was hard done by here'', but then people also thought he was hard done by in Silverstone somehow
November 9, 2025 at 7:43 PM
and some receipts, just for fun

piastri didn't have a front wheel alongside antonelli's wing mirror until he locked up. it's as slam dunk as it gets
November 9, 2025 at 7:33 PM
you could argue turning in on some dweeb divebombing you isn't a winning move by Antonelli, and you'd probably be right, but that doesn't matter by the letter of the law. it's a very clear cut penalty
November 9, 2025 at 7:22 PM
the stewards view a lock-up as the driver not being in control of their car by default, and have done so for many years (at least since the start of the V6 era, possibly longer). the rest of the book went out of the window the moment Piastri locked up
absolutely astounding that people think the Piastri penalty is ''harsh'', but then Piastri might be the single most coddled driver in the wider F1 fanbase
