it's all chaos over there, but I think the protesters are actually calling themselves Gen Z. As in, that's the name of the movement or group that's organizing it.

That happened to me too -- crossing from Hungary into East Germany right after the wall fell in 1989. They barged in in the middle of the night, shining their flashlights into everyone's faces, scaring the shit out of us. Guess they didn't get the memo.

I second this! My husband and I cherish the time together that we can only find on vacations because in our home life we're often running around in different directions. We just got back from vacation and it was wonderful to have those two weeks to do things together and enjoy each other's company.

Apparently only about 40% of people have an interior monologue. I’m fascinated by this, too—I can’t imagine getting anything done without telling myself what to do!

Wow. Jim Ryan is a friend of mine. He is a good man and a great, compassionate leader who guided the university through the storm of the C’ville Nazi march and beyond. This is a terrible loss and a shameful acquiescence by UVA.

20 years ago when I moved to S.F. a local TV meteorologist just shrugged and said “the weather is…as it is, where you are” and I thought it was hilarious. Little did I know that that’s pretty much how it is around here, every day.
