You guys seriously have the worst PR on the planet

That’s something that him & MBJ actually agree on it seems

Yeah it’s been a few winters (2021-22 I think?) since we had as much snow in a short period time as we’ve had recently, but snow removal was noticeably better that year than it has so far this year. Hopefully they improve as the winter progresses, but 🤷‍♂️

Until we have leadership that cares, nothing will change
December 16, 2025 at 4:54 AM
Yeah I don’t get it. Did they run out of money, have less plows, not enough workers? I’ve felt terrible for people that have difficulty getting around, at least it should all melt this week. But winter is just beginning
December 16, 2025 at 4:37 AM
It took them over 2 whole days to plow the side streets in my neighborhood after the first snowstorm we had after Thanksgiving. When I moved here 9 years ago the longest it’d take for a plow to go by the same side street was 6 hours max after the snow stopped

Wake me up when he proposes a budget that actually taxes the rich, this ain’t it. It taxes employees, not rich individuals. It’s very noticeable there’s very few Chicagoans who think this isn’t a dumb idea, and these talking points being pushed REALLY feels like a poorly run propaganda campaign

I’d be interested! Have a meteorology degree & work in aviation, wrote my final research paper before I graduated on how climate change will affect vulnerable population groups more than others

This is false. The salt trucks were used for crowd control during the taste of Chicago, can’t believe people are spreading fake news on here like it’s Twitter
September 8, 2025 at 3:46 AM
The salt trucks were not placed there to deter ICE, they were used for crowd control for the taste of Chicago. This isn’t X, don’t spread false news
September 8, 2025 at 3:44 AM
Yep, since I’ve lived in Chicago nothing of the same nature has ever happened 🤷‍♂️

My parents lived in rural IL & one day when I was a kid a large bullet showed up in the side of our house, the day before we were having my sister’s birthday party right where the bullet struck. Cops didn’t care, said someone was probably “practicing” and “accidentally shot our house”

If you want a good laugh whenever you’re bored, read through r/burningman

Then we better get serious about a progressive candidate that isn’t Johnson, and very soon
August 29, 2025 at 4:01 PM
He’s not going to anything except say mean words, as if that scares Trump. He’s a weak mayor, thankfully our governor isn’t
August 24, 2025 at 8:37 PM
Yeah I don’t think making memes about the only guy that can actually help you is going to help you out at all. Kind of embarrassing
August 19, 2025 at 5:52 PM
100%. I have hope for a better future though
August 16, 2025 at 1:22 PM
I hope I’m wrong & he surprises me
August 15, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Unfortunately, Johnson is incompetent & has made it clear he doesn’t care about transit
August 15, 2025 at 3:37 PM
Must be nice to be so privileged to be unaffected by a Gardaworld concentration camp on toxic ground in an underserved area & more worried about words. You don’t live here & you’re so dumb that combative words (he hasn’t physically done anything to block Trump’s policies)charm you over actual action
August 15, 2025 at 1:26 AM
I like Pritzker a lot but he hasn’t done nearly enough to save public transit in Chicago.
August 15, 2025 at 12:35 AM
Yeah, as someone that voted & campaigned for him at one point, I’m extremely disappointed. Hopefully our next mayor is better
August 15, 2025 at 12:31 AM
Yeah building a $20M migrant concentration camp on toxic ground with Gardaworld in an underserved part of the city is actually exactly what a Republican would do
August 14, 2025 at 2:39 AM
Sorry, I’m just angry because it feels like no one gives a shit & is eager to blame anyone but ourselves
August 14, 2025 at 1:59 AM
You using people from the 90s & earlier as your example just proves my point that we’re REGRESSING because local progressive coalitions that had all the power in ~2020-2022 completely dropped the ball & now have no plan or are in denial
