Question about The Iliad - What do you think are the biggest misconceptions about the poem based on some of the more traditional translations?

Oh beauty of linen mark the morning

Joy in the memory of now, curled deep into the softness of our being

Home regards us, as we do it

How easy the weave brings the every day bliss

Average time person will spend on their phone in their lifetime: 12 YEARS

What would you do with 12 years? Do you think 12 years of scrolling will have been well used?

Truly being kind to yourself cannot be captured on social media, it only takes place inside your heart.

And it’s anything but surface-level. It’s so specific and real to your own experience and requires a change in your being.

Decide to be kind to yourself today.

Fun fact: Much of the Maine woods are still uncharted land that almost no one lives in. It’s one of the most unsettled and wild places in the US.

There’s a reason so many horror books take place here. Because here, you feel like you’re taking up the forest’s space, not the other way around. #Maine

I believe one of the biggest causes of polarization over the past decades has been a concerted effort on the part of racist GOP leaders and others to gaslight the entire nation to convince us that they aren’t exactly who we know they are.

Hard to tell the racists from the moderates these days.

Here at Target, we believe in the importance of staying in step with the evolving external landscape. However, it’s clear that our recent policy changes around DEI have missed the mark. Truthfully, we did not realize you queers had money

“Extinction Burst” - a sudden spike in the intensity of a behavior when the reinforcement has been removed. Because the action has produced a desirable result in the past, it is tried rapidly until it is clear the action no longer will result in that reward. (MAGA)

🧪 I was finding convos on Blue Sky so unremittingly depressing (not that the world isn't . . .) that, since Jan, I've been posting a daily snapshot of an ocean, a lake, blue sky, something beautiful, with the message: "Breathe." I also repost others' images of natural beauty. #science
