Non-American here with some truths:
Neither sweet potato or pumpkin belongs in pie
Stuffing isn’t stuffing if it’s not stuffing something
Green beans shouldn’t be braised, never mind in a can of soup of all things
Give me a dish that isn’t a dessert but contains marshmallows and I will beat you
