I'm remembering now how much I enjoyed Orjinn Sammar's sorry I'm Kellanved's Reach. Must re-read them all! Can't wait for his next one, which I understand is delayed until next year and I assume is covering Aren etc

These books were huge for me in my teens. It felt like the first mature fantasy after reading a lot of great but simpler stuff, eg Weddings, Feist. Feels like TW doesn't get the acclaim he deserves. The series seemed to arrive at a time of transition for the genre into modern fantasy

It always baffled me why Linux desktop is like this. Then I went to a conference where someone from the Fedora project did a talk making a similar plea and the room descended into "how dare you" etc etc etc.
It was my "ahhhhhh" moment. So this is why it's like this 😂😭

Yeah they are very funny. Dancer the babysitter it feels like a lot of the time 😂

Wow how do you get through them so quickly. Each one takes me many weeks, sometimes months. For that I blame being a parent. So you can imagine how long BotF took me

I agree they're definitely worth checking out. I didn't love RotCG or OST but I've generally liked all his books. For me Stonewielder and Forge of the High Mage are the best

It's Farage's game plan all these years: shift UK politics to the right 😭😭😭 Paves the way for his ilk to be palatable; and the people are proving pliable

😭 ikr. People are such suckers for this populist fascist BS. What happened to critical thinking. So now labour feel they have to join in because they think their voters are so dumb. Maybe they are right

I found that because the book had fewer POVs and was generally less sprawling than MBotF I really got attached to these marines. In BotF sometimes I was like "oh another marine which one is this". It's a much more accessible book I found. I loved it

Are you on The Good is not Willing, or the new one? I thought the former was possibly my favourite SE 😬😭 And the gang of marines I thought were deeper for the focus he was able to give to them, unlike BotF. Stillwater is brilliant. But hey, my liking is doesn't make it good I guess! ❤️
