I really like the natural “engagement” on BlueSky and Mastodon. It feels like it is way easier to find and reach people that are interested in #infosec #it #development, #computerscience and #selfhosting than on the blue bird.

Unpopular opinion:
I hate that so many project and service info gets dumped into #Discord. You can't search for any of it publicly, everyone has to create an account just to read basic information, and the whole platform is completely proprietary and controlled by a single company (1/2) #signalboost

I just faced a really weird behavior on #Soundcloud:
I was blocked from logging in, as my email address was "disclosure of user data from another service", which is really odd because it is a alias only used and given to Soundcloud (on my own domain). (1/2)

I tried to use #crowdsec for the first time today to lock down the proxy that I use to proxy #Immich and #Nextcloud, but noticed that it does not like the Nextcloud office nor some Immich features. (1/2)

My journey to ditch US #big #tech continues.
I set up a nextcloud instance with office integration that will replace our #Microsoft #Office Family subscription.

Now it's time to upload all data, which will likely take some time but is worth it.

Trying to switch away from big tech is continuing:
I set up a #Immich instance to ditch #Google #Photos and take back my #privacy. I run the server on my #homelab and proxy it over a tunnel to be accessible everywhere.
Immich takes more resources than expected, but is running smooth with 6GB RAM.

A great day against fascism. Hopefully #elonmusk now has better things to do than interfering with European elections.

I am slowly getting ready to boycott US companies as long as the US betrays its longtime partners like the EU and Canada.
I've started by canceling my Microsoft Family subscription, transferring my servers from DigitalOcean to a German host and closing my Uber account.

I am really done with most US tech companies supporting the shitshow of Trump and will no longer use them, as money is the online language they understand.

My first step will be a self hosted google picture and drive alternative for my family and me.

I will keep you updated on how well this goes

I posted a few comments that were critical against the AfD (german extremist party) and against #Musk & #Trump for dismantling the US democracy and now the reach of my Twitter Account is limited. That's what Musk understands as free speech and no #censorship.
