I think it's partly because Dread came out prior and it nailed Samus in a way that cured whatever illness Other M brought about that this feels like a bad flashback

As long as she's as badass as she was in Dread I can marginally tolerate the mcu character she's forced to lug around (unless he dies hilariously early on lol)

We don't want a repeat of Other M
