Run 5/145. This was from Saturday but had a very busy weekend so didn’t get around to posting. I’ll post my splits in a repost because there’s a lot of info. Felt pretty good. I think my technique has definitely improved as I don’t get as much discomfort in my lower legs

Friday Leg day class. Went in having very little energy. Was feeling rough most of the day: not a lot of sleep and had a bit too much to drink. Didn’t get my Friday run in so I’m going to have to squeeze that in before a very busy weekend.

I’m using Kiprun Pacer. It’s a Decathlon app. And this is what happens if I don’t stick at its recommended pace. Wanted me to keep at 8’30”/km for a warmup, fast 3 mins, and cool down, and I went faster than that 😂

Run 4/145. Finally managed to satisfy the app 😂 Somehow managed to keep to a slower pace and got to focus on my form. Was kind of relaxing for once. Next session looks like a hard one so I’ll see how that goes

Run 3/145. This one felt a bit rough. I don’t think I quite have the right technique which makes the run a little uncomfortable. Plus I hit a long incline when I got to the 6mins faster pace.
Need to look at how to improve my stride and keep it in mind.

Leg day. Bit late as it’s gone midnight here. This session was a killer!
Super pumped for the class then got hit by how hard it was. Was even steaming from how hot and sweaty I got 😅
Need to practice my RDLs though. I don’t feel super confident with my form 😕

Run session: 40mins warmup-3mins fast-10mins cool down.
Apparently it was “insufficient” because I was faster than the recommended pace of 8’30”/km so whatever 😂
Enjoying a coffee, KiKat and sausage roll before I hit legs later. Let’s see how that goes

Boxfit! Damn I’m tired. Felt really energised for the first half then reality set in. Going to make sure I enjoy my rest day tomorrow because I bet my legs are going to scream at me otherwise. Might do a long walk just to make it an active recovery but we’ll see

40min run. Restarted the plan as I wasn’t sure if the last one was the ‘beginner’ plan (turns out it was). Had a slower pace in mind but was still faster than the recommended which was 8’30”/km. Overall not too bad and still cracked the 5km mark 😊

Leg day class! Went pretty well considering the earlier run. Probably helped me stretch out as well 😂
Ended up being just me so it was a nice chill session with the trainer who got me to do all the fun exercises. Think the coffee and a kitkat made this better

Long run: 40mins warm up - 3” fast - 10” recover.
Bit miffed tbh. Apparently I was under the recommended pace. Plus the app cut my recorded time by 10 secs even though I stopped the timer after 53mins. Got leg day later so getting ready for that in a mood 😩

Boxfit day. Couldn’t be asked to edit the activity on Fitbit. Spent the whole day tired from little sleep and achy from yesterday’s run, so doing things like box set ups could go do one 😂

40min run at jogging pace. Don’t know why the Kiprun Pacer app cut the time so I was a second under (I stopped the session at least 2-3 past). The first run I’ve been on in over 2 years. Pace looks pretty good and hitting 5km is pretty impressive

Guess who went looking for new running shoes in a UK size 6 and came out with a pair 2 sizes too small because they were a US 6 😂 Tbh I was in a rush, saw the number 6 and went with it

Boxfit day! Would normally do this on a Monday but had a family meal out. I was in such a rush before arriving so heart rate was probably high going in. Energy at the beginning was fantastic but VERY QUICKLY vanished 😂

I’m back! It’s been a month since my last session. Now I’ve got access to the car again I kicked things off with Boxfit. Definitely hate feeling like I have the endurance of wet tissue paper but there’s only one way to resolve that.

Leg day class. Got to do RDLs with a barbell (20kg bar w/ 10kg of plates). Ngl it was really fun and might influence how much I try to do them with dumbbells in future.
Got obliterated for the rest of the class thanks to a resistance band but it is what it is 😂

So I thought I’d take a video to check my form doing RDLs. This was 10 reps using 2x 10kg dumbbells. I think the hip hinge is fine, but I was curious as to whether my shoulders drop when I go down. Also if my back is straight enough.

Boxfit was cancelled so did a bit of a improv leg day. Thought I’d do warm up on the elliptical then see where the mood takes me. Been thinking about how I should start training to failure but I’m not sure if I’ve got there just yet. At least I now know where to start #GymSky #WorkoutSky #workout

Leg day. Things are looking up. After feeling like a dumpster fire for a week, today felt genuinely good. Also started eating proper breakfasts so I’m not going insane by lunchtime 😂
