Spent a day in Rochdale where a school with 47 nationalities, a number of gang members and the millstone of poverty is using lacrosse, jiu-jitsu and trumpets for all to boost opportunities and shake off the town’s sometimes less-than-favourable reputation.
I excluded 11 pupils on day one as head — look at our school now

Pine Martens, who not long ago were at risk of extinction, are starting to make a slow but steady recovery in numbers. ⬆️
