Yep, any time someone says ‘That’s what they’re all doing’, what they mean is ‘That’s what I would do’

That’s very interesting. Which asset managers would you say are the leaders on this?

Agreed, banks are well ahead of the curve on understanding and now pricing physical climate risk, been doing this for years already. Asset managers starting to work on it but still a long way behind banks.

Of course, under maritime law, this situation requires both parties to turn to the right….

Wow, we're back to the ecosystem/walled garden thing. I remember Sberbank - sorry, Sber - banging on about that back in 2019.

Yep, I have a family member in this situation. Freelance translator, Russian wife. Can’t see him ever being able to return to the UK to live under current rules, or of his mother being able to see her grandson more than a couple of times a year.

www.euromoney.com/article/27bj... I interviewed him at his dacha in 2019. He was charming and urbane, and cheerfully ignored any questions he didn’t want to answer. Cute cat though.

I mean, yes. Quite fun to see the astonishing range of bizarre stuff that gets advertised. But only a (short) evening’s entertainment at best

I have a colleague who makes a large bag of crisps last a week, eats a few at lunch every day, and has a clip to seal it with between times. Madness.

Damn, must make sure to invite some non-sailors to our sailing WhatsApp group to avoid groupthink.

The Insta algorithm urgently wants me to paint thick brown, red and pink stripes all over my face, and then rub them with a brush, after which I will look exactly the same as I did at the start of the video (quite nice, caked in make-up).

In my experience, US firms are a lot lesser bothered by CSRD than by the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, which would make them liable for infractions in their supply chains. That is where even sustainability advocates in the US start talking about extraterritoriality.

Whatever you think about mandating disclosure in general, and CSRD/SFDR specifically, it’s not the same as mandating action. Also, most big US companies have been voluntarily reporting under SASB and other regions under GRI and TCFD for years. And APAC is now going big on ISSB.

Like putting consultant on your visa application instead of journalist. Only got called on it once, Belarusian embassy phoned to say ‘we know you’re a journalist, you’ve got a meeting at the central bank on Wednesday’

Musk's stake goes to US sovereign wealth fund, Tesla goes to the moon. And then zero.
