I started a thing with my buddy where we go to a bookstore and pick out two books on the same topic The idea was to read it and compare how the two different books approached the same things.
It was tricky to find a match, but we picked two books on Bigfoot and already this was such a great idea.

Did you know if you go out for a whole day in a costume that's also essentially just your regular clothes you'll forget the part that's very much a costume and react with confusion when a weird amount of people make extended eye contact with you?

When I was trying to tell my wife what I was seeing tonight at The Hollywood Theater, I said "a show" and then "it's like some storytelling thing I think", and finally "apparently a slideshow is involved".

Always feel like kind of an asshole when I'm getting boba and gently remark on having a lot of bad milk tea in Portland.
But every so often I'll mention that I'm from the Bay Area and the shop worker will go "ohhh yeah okay of course you're picky".

I love how every Sonic iteration brings a slightly different vibe to Sonic and most of the cast - except for Tails. Everyone collectively agrees what Tails sounds like.

Not saying the IA issue isn't an issue but I can name like a dozen young people off the top of my head who don't have access to a library/who have their library access heavily monitored. Would love a solution for them beyond the current one which is maybe cope and/or learn piracy themselves?

It's been a hard few weeks but I cracked the code needed to wash dishes. It did involve hosing them down in the yard but it fucking worked so that's being marked as a win.

Writers can do WAY more intense shit in their work successfully if they practiced building an environment of narrative safety and trust in the reader, but apparently most people think all that requires is a content warning on the first page.

@gregtito.com hey so weird question. I'm in a 5e campaign and my dm has given us permission to use ANY cantrips endgame, including ones officially dubbed that outside of DnD. I pitched MTG cantrips but they said no unless I got a once WoTC employee to approve the semi-slang. Please help???

Just took a brief drown in all the Averno Nonsense from a few years back. A real masterclass in the worst way you can engage with young artists. Potentially also an example of the type of creator that should be encouraged to utilize AI instead of endless, uncredited child labor.
