Salmon's Four Decades is particularly good at showing how ideas in the philosophy of science emerge and reemerge in various guises. It's hard to miss how quicky the discipline has moved in such short time. So many things for epistemologists and philosophers of mind to chew on!

Analytically-minded philosophers really ought to seriously ask themselves "Am I using letters for variables here because I need them or because I want the air of seriousness that comes with them?"
