Epstein Files - Looks like the House of Reps. needs to appoint an acceptable Special Prosecutor to examine the un-redacted files and then be prepared to impeach DOJ and Trump for not following the law passed by Congress.

In the next administration, when they chisel off DJT's name from the Kennedy Center, I hope they auction off the removed lettering. I'd bid on one of those souvenirs.

As the tyranny of Trump is beginning to dissolve (Epstein legislation), the House democrats need to extend a hand to the republicans and invite them to support the affordable health insurance fight. This will prove we are willing to work with all that support the needs of working class individuals.

Rev. William Barber II and Ezra Levin need to meet to plan an organization for the poor similar to the No Kings Movement. The poor have become pawns in the government shutdown. It's time to enlist these victims as reliable voters.

How can we, Americans, be proud of being the most wealthy nation on earth and, at the same time, have children and others in need of food? Shame on us and those who claim to lead and represent the rest of us.

I hope the justified guilt motivates us to do the right thing in the next election.

Just heard, not mine..." there is nothing wrong with this country that can't be fixed by what is wright"... Is true to me, what do you think?

Leave behind the "need to win". In place use "need for truth". The mechanics for truth can not be disputed. The argument for belief can be disputed. Let's see what happens?

Why are "conservatives" so concerned about sexual preference? Perhaps they, or family members, are more "diverse" then they want to admit or acknowledge (?). Shakespeare nailed it with "... me thinks he protests too much..." What do you think?

One of my saddest realizations at my age is the love songs of my youth that I ignored. To my young friends, listen carefully and deeply so all your recollections are with smiles and not tears.

Election Reforms

Quite a legacy being left by Trump for fellow Republicans. Gerrymandering and now an attack on mail-in ballots. Worse yet, no resistance by otherwise sain Republicans(?). I fear we are not the democracy we thought we were. What's next?

Trump is a fool. He will never have a better surrogate than Zalynsk to take the heat on kicking Putin's ass. Our support of the Ukrainian courage would surprise the world. What do you think...?

Someone please explain why "pro-Palistine" is being described as antisemitism and not simply disagreement with Israel government policy?
August 13, 2025 at 6:23 PM
YEA TEXAS! Finally, Dems are fighting fire with fire. Trump is so proud and confident of his new policies he's scrambling to add Reps to House to cover expected losses. This attempt is enough for CA, NY and others to move on redistricting. Can't afford to ignore Trump's latest trick. What say you?

We are all witnesses that criminals mock society's laws.

It is so sad that most of us have not developed empathy for others. Rightfully, we admire first responders in Texas. Regretfully we can't imagine that same selflessness from an immigrant neighbor in south Los Angeles. If we can't imagine helping, maybe that's why we can't imagine being helped?

Each of us pays a portion of all congress member's salary. We agree to let each state hire (elect) the employee of their choice. If the employee is derelict in their duties (approving the BBB) they need to be fired. Rather than fret the results of the BBB let's get busy firing & hiring replacements.
July 3, 2025 at 12:36 AM
BBB is really going to screw over the people that actually voted for Trump. We need to accept this as a "learning experience" for those deceived. Remember, as a child, how you learned about a hot stove? This could be a teaching experience for those deceived by Trump.

Someone help me understand. Do the people most negatively affected by cuts in medicaid and similar benefits not vote? How can we help them if they won't try (vote) to help themselves? If medicaid recipients don't vote how will things change? Any comments?

Just read that Trump plans to tax remittances immigrants send to their families abroad. Interesting how this fits with his new found love for crypto currency exchanges.

When will the discussion begin that the wealthy would rather loan money to US government (invest in US bonds), i.e. US debt, than pay a fair rate of income and estate taxes. Loaning money to the government keeps that in one's estate, paying taxes reduces one's estate. This needs to be explained.

At 77 it's not likely I will sit in the shade of a tree I plant today but, someone will and they are why I'm doing this.

Maybe it's time we all send a set of "truck nuts" to our congressmen to remind them to step up and defend congressional authority. They need to be reminded the "job" they have is likely the last they will ever have.
