If you just want a person and not a huge name, Lorita Daniels is running. Former Spotsy School Board member.

Administration and Republican figures in general have said some version of "FAFO" that so much over the past year, that it's ceased to have any impact for me.

Wouldn't half the online voters be traveling for the holidays? Or they could be abroad for the military, like myself.

A non-Virginis or non-US IP address wouldn’t mean anything.

Tiny old ranch house to McMansion is a 1 to 1 move. Doesn't change anything in terms of supply, and the former was already unaffordable in NoVA. Luxury is just a label; those high rises will have cheaper units after 10 years than any single family home.

YIGBY is fine and dandy, and any sensible pro-housing person would support it, but there aren't enough church lands for it to really address the problem at scale.

It's fundamentally a question of density. Obviously the developers would rather build a $1.5 million home instead of a $500K home when they have to build single family. But they'd make even more money with 12 $400K apartments.

They're profit-seeking but so are most providers of goods and services.

Garrett had the best grasp of the issue: the best way to alleviate housing prices is to single-mindedly increase the supply. Everything else is secondary at best.

Wages are not something the state legislature can meaningfully control, not when half the district is feds & military.

Garrett had the best answers on housing policy, so he was my preferred choice.

In 2014 The Economist did a whole cover story about the online sex worker business, complete with a lot of charts with pricing data pulled from TER.

Al-Sharaa was anti-ISIS, and the picture of the dude holding up heads wasn't him. You've fallen for misinformation.

Obama began this effort to stop ISIS.

And he was right to do so. ISIS was a threat to the US and our allies. We destroyed the territorial caliphate, but still need to help the Syrian and Iraqi forces recover from civil war and crush the insurgency.

10-1 won't have the clean lines of a 9-2, but if Indiana is going 9-0 then it's only fair I suppose.

My quick take on a 9-2 Dem map.

They're saying she's a casualty of the War on Terror and specifically the Afghanistan War, even though it ended before she graduated high school.

Because the guy who shot her was trained up to be a commando by the US government, and probably went nuts because of what he saw and did.

One was Air National Guard, the other was Army National Guard. Sarah Beckstrom was in the 863rd Military Police CO, under the 111th Engineer Brigade.

These young troops have never seen war and likely never will. But we still as them to go to faraway places and endure the heat and cold. We ask them to work jobs with a 24/7 shift schedule. We ask them to miss holidays and birthdays. And we subject them to the risks inherent in military operations.

I'm a Reservist but I've worked with a lot of Guard Military Police over the years. Units from TX, MO, LA, CT, AL, NC, SC, and yes West Virginia.

Lots of dedicated young people, who signed up to serve their communities and pay for college and so forth.
